The 놀던 Light (Aurora), 2024
Mixed media on canvas
36 × 46 in (91 × 116.8 cm)

The 놀던 Light (Aurora) grew from my experience of seeing the Northern Lights. The title plays with the sound of “Northern Light” and the Korean word “놀던,” which refers to a place where one once played or spent time. The colors and floral forms developed from my memory of the aurora and the atmosphere I experienced beneath it.
